Spring Flamingos

Granted April here in Portland feels more like February, but I still have faith that actual Spring weather is around the corner. However the hus knew what was up and pick these beauties up for me yesterday. Just the seasonal gift the doctor ordered.

Perfect Little Spring Platforms

If only my feet we smaller. These are totally adorable. Maybe I shouldn't be browsing etsy in my bathrobe but actually doing something productive. But seriously, if your tootsies are a US Women's 6.5, then I am totally jealous because these beauties could be yours. Check them out at Living Threads Vintage's etsy store.

Post Easter Sunday

I apologize for not posting yesterday... I was working on some projects and at my internship. But The hus and I did get the chance to hop out of town this weekend up to Seattle. Where Saturday was 72 degrees and then Sunday was back to the 50s with showers. More projects to come so stay tuned...

Fashion Doldrums...

Sorry, to have been slacking lately on the blog. Allow me to explain... I believe I have recently sailed into the fashion doldrums. You know the space I am talking about. It's that space where everything in your closet is ugly and outdated. You try shopping: nothing fits right, its too expensive, or produced too inexpensively. The motivation in the style department is lacking. I am just craving something shocking, breathtaking, beautiful. Nothing really foots the bill. Then, there are the moments where I try to calm myself down: its only late April, the season is in limbo, the weather is far less than desirable, the amount of free time is less than desirable, the sound of my alarm clock is ear piercing. The combination of all of the above have left me with my head against a wall. Much to my dismay I seem unable to find something interesting. And believe me I have looked, searched, scoured.

Don't get me wrong here, this is not a post of style defeat, oh no. Just a complaint being filed. Give me a challenge! I dare you. I need wind in my sails. Any ideas?

xoxo

Mink Pink Mini

I picked up this jazzy little number on mega sale at Phlox yesterday afternoon. I am in serious heart. A great all purpose black mini skirt with exposed zipper down the front, so you are able to dress it up or down.

The catch though is that Phlox is closing up shop on Mississippi, and tomorrow the 20th, will be there last day before the move and the rebranding downtown. So, if you are in the market for some chic boutique labels get over there before 6pm tomorrow.

Oh, and did I mention the sale is take an extra 40% off of the lowest marked price. These good are going for less than wholesale value, so check it out.

What I Want Under There

The VPL Insertion Bra W, available at Lille Boutique. Amazingly half bralette and half super hero. I might even wear it over my t- shirt.

Day Dreaming... Feet First

The recent April showers have left me constantly day dreaming for sunny skies and warmer temperatures. I have also been day dreaming about these beauties from John Fluevog... the Hope Promise. And to quote the Beach Boys, if the two of us were united, "Oh, wouldn't it be nice..."

Jeanne Voyage

Its official, my first fragrance. Its french. Its lovely. Its totally chic. And it is a solid. You can take it through airport security even. What else is there to love? Oh, only that my middle name is part of the title.

I picked this fragrance up at Azzuro last week and I am in love with the subtel feminine scent. The combination of Florentine iris, Javanese nutmeg and Sicilian bergamot are equal parts romance and mystique.

Bon Voyage...

Good Shoes Gone Bad

Granted I only paid $7.99 for these bad boys over at the Goodwill, but spending 5+ weeks and covering several miles together just doesn't seem like enough. Regretfully, these chunky little black numbers are bound for the garbage as the sole of the right one is now spoiled beyond repair. Bon Voyage.

Now, I am on the hunt for work shoes. So, get your Danskos ready it is about to go down.

Monday's Carryall

When it is not raining and I have to tote around items that are too large for my yellow ActionPack, the leather blue Samsonite Sonora II is my number one. Isn't she lovely?

I'm a Punk Rocker, Yes I am.

...to quote Iggy Pop, anyway. Presenting the latest addition to the Lego Minifigure collection at the apartment. Rock + Roll, Series 4.

Staying Warm + Caffeinated

With the rise in the price of a double americano, we have started making coffee at the apartment. Don't get me wrong, I still stop into our favorite coffee shop, just now it is once a day instead of sometimes three.

On the bright side, the french press is pretty tasty with the Sterling Coffee Roasters' Sur Huila EP beans from Colombia. Plus, it comes in a fancy jar.

Good Morning Portland.

When Everything Else Fails... There's Rock & Roll

On a rainy day, much like this one, sometimes fashion alone is not enough to brighten the gloom. Thank goodness there is also rock and roll, and the Troggs.

Cheers.

When All Else Fails... Put a Belt on It

Right now, in theory, the Spring fashion wardrobe would be in full effect. However with this cold start to April, I have spent very little time outside of my apartment without being under the protective cover of my peacoat. Not to mention the cold winds of the Great Recession.

The quick fix for this Almost-Spring fashion conundrum: the belt.

This isn't the belt your granddad wore to keep his trousers up, but a belt as an accessory, worn on the natural waist -- the narrowest part of your body.

Use the belt to accentuate a great waistline or give the illusion of longer gams. It can be as feminine or as punk as you desire. Plus the belt doesn't have to break your piggy bank. Check your local thrift, consignment or vintage shop for great options under $20.

Time For Spring...

...which means it is time to toss out your Uggs. Always a good idea.
